BG finance partners the Business Groups across the areas of global performance management, global cost controlling, strategic investment, and innovation. Personal Care BG Finance is a diverse team located primarily out of 100VE in London.
Job Purpose:
Reporting to the Personal Care BG Brand Finance Lead, the successful candidate in this role is responsible for business partnering BG Marketing and the PC R&D Function. The candidate will play a highly visible role in supporting strategic investment decisions for R&D with the PCLT and will lead FP&A and controlling for all BG central Marketing and R&D costs, totaling ~€450m annually. The ideal candidate will need to be able to move seamlessly between more operational, short-term performance management and team leadership in the FP&A part of the role, and more strategic long-term investment thinking and senior stakeholder management in the R&D part of the role.
Main Responsibilities:
- Support the PCLT and BG Marketing and R&D stakeholders on resource allocation, investment decisions, and strategic prioritization with analysis
- Own monthly FP&A activities for PC BG central Marketing and R&D costs, including forecasting, planning, analytics, and reporting
- Lead business interventions to deliver BG Marketing and R&D plans within required targets and create investment capacity for new opportunities, including driving ZBB / Fuel for Growth
- Own and oversee the deployment of key controls on BG Marketing and R&D cost & investments
- Act as main point of contact for GCC on BG central Marketing and R&D Overheads, and with GPM on BG central Marketing BMI
- Lead the annual planning process for BG central Marketing and R&D for PC, including setting of OH and BMI targets by team
- Lead analysis and drive interventions on PC Innovation Performance and Innovation Funnel development, including managing innovation data hygiene with the PC BUs.
- Act as strategic finance partner to the PC Chief R&D Officer and the R&D function, including providing evaluation of return on different investment opportunities, recommending prioritization of investment between different capabilities and technologies and shaping the PC R&D strategy
- Managing and developing 1-2 direct report into a high-performing team
- Advocating for PC BG needs on tools and training with the FET Expertise Teams on FP&A/Cost Controlling and Innovation

Relevant Skills & Experiences Needed:
- Ability to influence a large and complex set of stakeholders for impact
- Ability to lead and develop high-performing teams, including informal ones
- Excellent prioritisation skills and ability to be agile in resource deployment
- Advanced Excel & strong Power BI skills
- Strong controlling & process excellence/optimisation skills
- Good business acumen / understanding of the Personal Care business
- Resilient and energetic in the face of challenges & frustration
- Ability to translate theoretical concepts (e.g. ROI) into practical application
- Experience in presenting and communicating with senior business leaders
- Financial planning, reporting, and analytics experience would be a clear asset
