

About the role:
The Integrated Family Services Senior Practitioner is a leadership and practice-focused role that supports the Integrated Family Services Coordinator in leading the Integrated Family Services Team and delivering high quality, intensive family services. Situated within Family Services in the Community Programs Division at MacKillop and based in the Footscray IFS Team, the role combines advanced casework with supervision, service development and system collaboration. The Senior Practitioner contributes to high quality practice by providing informal and additional supervision, consultation, training and support to staff and students, assisting with recruitment, induction and professional development, and promoting evidence-based, strengths-based practice aligned with the Best Interest Case Practice Model and the Sanctuary Framework. The role is responsible for managing and delivering complex casework, undertaking culturally appropriate assessments, facilitating group programs for vulnerable children, young people and families, coordinating intake, referrals, assessments, planning and reviews, and ensuring compliance with legislation, funding requirements, organisational policies and data systems. Working closely with Child Protection, The Orange Door and other government and community stakeholders, the Senior Practitioner plays a key role in service coordination, program development, quality improvement and innovation, while fostering a positive team culture and a safe, supportive environment. Central to the role is a strong commitment to the safety, wellbeing and best interests of children and young people, duty of care, inclusion of diverse communities, staff wellbeing and the mission and values of MacKillop Family Services.
This position is offered on a full-time basis; however, flexible working arrangements may be negotiated, including 0.9 EFT, for the right candidate. The position reports to the Integrated Family Services Coordinator.
