Apprentice Diesel Service Technician
The Larson Group Peterbilt is looking for a motivated Apprentice Diesel Service Technician to join our team. This entry‑level position is designed for individuals who are eager to learn the diesel service trade while working under the guidance of experienced technicians and service leadership.
This role provides hands-on training and development toward becoming a fully qualified Heavy‑Duty Truck Technician.

Responsibilities:
- Assist senior technicians with basic diagnostic and mechanical repairs on heavy-duty truck equipment and related components.
- Learn proper troubleshooting techniques and how to verify repairs under supervision.
- Follow all safety rules and company policies at all times.
- Communicate with the Service Foreman regarding repair progress and parts availability.
- Learn to document repairs, diagnostic steps, and supporting information in company systems.
- Assist with uploading required photos, engine files, and basic diagnostic information as directed.
- Learn proper handling of warrantable parts, including tagging, cleaning, boxing, and returning parts to the correct location.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area; properly clean and return tools after use.
- Communicate any observations or concerns to other technicians or the Service Foreman when appropriate.
- Participate in required Peterbilt online training and work toward meeting training completion goals.
- Work toward obtaining and maintaining a Class A or B CDL, if required.
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of the service department.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Enrollment in or completion of a diesel technology program or trade school is preferred but not required.
- Prior mechanical or hands-on experience is helpful, but not required.
- Willingness to learn, follow direction, and grow within the role.
- Must possess or be able to obtain a Class A or B CDL.
- Motor Vehicle Record must adhere to TLG MVR Guidelines.
