

The Department of Music at the College of the Holy Cross invites applications for a one-semester visiting full-time faculty position (leave replacement) for the Fall 2026 semester beginning in August 2026. We are seeking a musicologist with a specialization in European Music able to teach three courses in the Fall semester: one section of History of Western Music 1 (Medieval, Renaissance, Baroque; MUSC-211) Tuesdays and Thursdays 11am-12:15pm and two sections Introduction of Music (survey of art music from the Middle Ages to the present; MUSC-101) Tuesdays and Thursdays 9:30-10:45am and 2-3:15pm. Preference will be given to candidates who have experience teaching majors and non-majors in a liberal arts context.
Visiting full-time faculty teach 3 courses each semester and are eligible to apply for support to present at a conference or attend a professional development program through the Provost’s Supplemental Research Fund. The College will support reimbursement of relocation costs within its published policies. The College offers full benefits and a salary of $35,000.
The College will not support H-1B visa applications that require the $100,000 employer fee.
Candidates must demonstrate commitment to, and excellence in, undergraduate teaching and inclusive pedagogies as informed by current practice and scholarship in the field.
