HWI has a fantastic opportunity to join our Operations Team as a Manager, Plant II.
Summary
The Manager, Plant II is a highly specialized and critical position accountable for contributing to HarbisonWalker Internationals overall business performance through the overall operation of the plant; ensuring safety, production, quality and capital efficiency goals are met. This role is responsible for having adequate knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation, etc).
Responsibilities
- Reports to operations and executive management as required
- Responsible for plant costs and initiates corrective action if needed
- Reviews and directs all aspects of plant quality system
- Controls inventories of supplies, raw materials, and finished goods
- Directs plant safety programs
- Develops and assigns duties / responsibilities to plant management team
- Assesses and reviews performance and provides training to plant management team
Requirements
- Requires B.S. in Engineering or Science, preferably Chemical or Mechanical
- Requires five (5) to seven (7) years refractory experience including operations, service, supervisory and management functions
- Requires interpersonal skills in dealing with employees and customers, mechanical aptitude.
- Requires knowledge of refractory materials, products, and operations, Department of Labor and Environmental regulations, ASTM standards, ISO 9000 standards, and Quality Assurance principles.
- Requires computer operation skills (MS Office, QAD accounting system or similar product
