WELCOMING YOU TO THE TEAM
You will join the Purchasing organization within Power Transmission, based in Oslo, Norway, and report to the Purchasing Team Lead.
The Purchasing team supports Power Transmission projects globally and is responsible for purchasing activities related to project execution, excluding raw materials and chartering. You will work closely with project teams, tender teams, engineering, sales, and other support functions to ensure efficient and compliant purchasing operations.
HOW YOU MAKE AN IMPACT
As a Senior Purchaser, you are responsible for executing purchasing activities for assigned packages, ensuring alignment with project requirements, client expectations, and Nexans standards.
Your main responsibilities include:
Managing several purchasing packages simultaneously in accordance with the Nexans Project Model and Purchasing Operating Model
Executing purchasing activities including supplier sourcing, selection, cost evaluation, negotiations, and purchase order placement
Implementing purchasing strategies adapted to the complexity of assigned packages
Supporting the Purchasing Team Lead and Purchasing Manager with cost analysis, market analysis, tender preparation, and negotiations
Participating in project and purchasing meetings such as clarifications, negotiations, supplier kick-offs, and risk reviews
Ensuring suppliers are qualified and participating in supplier audits when required
Following up on suppliers, contracts, invoicing, and deliveries
Ensuring all purchasing documentation is stored in PLM systems in line with Nexans procedures
Ensuring compliance with Nexans Corporate Purchasing Rules, General Management Procedures, and the Group Code of Ethics

YOUR STARTING POINT
We know the best candidates don’t always meet every requirement, but the following background will help you succeed:
Master’s degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, or related field
5 years of experience in Procurement, Category Management, or Supply Chain; project purchasing experience is an advantage
Proven record in negotiations or commercial achievements is a plus
Experience from international or industrial environments is an advantage
Familiarity with SAP; BI and Ariba knowledge is a plus
Structured, proactive, and results-oriented
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Fluent in English; Norwegian and/or French is an advantage
