Key Responsibilities
Define and execute the company’s technical vision, strategy, and roadmap in alignment with business objectives.
Lead the architecture, design, development, deployment, and maintenance of scalable fintech products.
Oversee security and compliance protocols across systems to meet local and international financial regulations (e.g., PCI-DSS, GDPR).
Hire, mentor, and manage high-performing engineering, DevOps, and data teams.
Drive technical decisions regarding build vs. buy, cloud infrastructure, APIs, and microservices.
Collaborate with product and business teams to prioritize features and improve customer experience.
Implement robust CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and QA/testing procedures.
Manage vendor relationships for third-party integrations (e.g., Paystack, Flutterwave, AWS, Azure).
Provide regular technical reports and risk assessments to executive leadership and investors.
Represent HitchPay in technical discussions with partners, regulators, and stakeholders.
Requirements
Proven experience as CTO, VP of Engineering, or equivalent leadership role in a high-growth fintech or SaaS company.
Strong background in software development (e.g., Django, Node.js, React) and infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure, containerization).
Experience with fintech products including virtual cards, payment APIs, KYC, and core banking integrations.
Deep understanding of security, data privacy, and compliance in fintech.
Demonstrated success in leading product launches, system scalability, and cross-functional teams.
Exceptional communication, strategic thinking, and decision-making skills.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (MBA is a plus).
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with blockchain, Web3, or cryptocurrency platforms.
Familiarity with Nigerian and pan-African fintech regulatory frameworks.
Startup or fundraising experience.
