The Impact Giving Intern will support the Annual Giving team and Butler University Advancement with marketing and communications for Giving Tuesday and Day of Giving. In addition, will assist with student involvement and philanthropy education by working with the Butler University Student Foundation (BUSF) and other donor stewardship tactics. The intern will report directly to the Associate Director of Butler Community Engagement.
Responsibilities will include:
- Giving Days:
- Assist with the planning and execution of “Giving Tuesday” and “Day of Giving” fundraising initiatives, including, but not limited to: marketing materials, social media, on-campus student engagement, and events (mostly BUSF)
- Fundraising and Stewardship
- Assist in the execution of donor stewardship initiatives, including phone calls, handwritten notes, and letters to university donors as needed.
- Generate thank you/acknowledgment letters as needed
- Assist with recruiting and interviewing featured students for various campaigns
- Other duties as assigned

- Be an ambassador for the University, conveying a positive impression
- Exceptional oral and written communication and phone skills; legible handwriting
- Interest in Advancement career preferred; not required
- Creativity for various events
- Note heavier workload and more availability needed in the weeks leading up to Giving Tuesday (December 1, 2026) and the two months before Butler Day of Giving (in the spring semester of 2027)
- Computer proficiencies including Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel), Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign), and/or Canva preferred, and willingness to learn the University fundraising database.
Part-time:5-15 hours/week (can be adjusted to meet internship requirements)
Pay rate: $12.35/hr
Term: Academic Year
