ABIS is looking for a diligent and detail-oriented Cost Accountant specializing in Costing & Budgeting to join our finance department. The Cost Accountant will be responsible for managing budgeting processes, analyzing cost data, and providing accurate cost reports to support financial planning and decision-making. This role plays a key part in tracking project costs, ensuring budget adherence, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze cost reports, budgets, and forecasts.
- Monitor and control project costs to ensure compliance with approved budgets.
- Develop and maintain the cost accounting system, documents, and records of the organization.
- Analyze and recommend costs and cost savings.
- Prepare and complete internal cost audits.
- Comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for financial statements.
- Analyze the data collected and log a detailed record of the results.
- Analyze any changes in goods or services provided in order to determine what effect it has on the cost.
- Analyze costs and prepare regular reports comparing standard costs to actual costs.
- Make estimates of new and proposed costs.
- Provide management with reports that specify and compare factors that affect prices and profitability of products or services.
- Assist in audits and general ledger preparation.
- Conduct physical inventories and monitor the cycle count program.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years experience in cost accounting, budgeting, or financial analysis.
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles and budgeting techniques.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Experience with ERP systems is an advantage (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics 365).
