Position Summary:
The Senior Systems Administrator (Cloud, OT & Data Platform) is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining a hybrid IT/OT infrastructure, including enterprise systems, cloud platforms, and modern data environments. This role supports both traditional infrastructure and next-generation data platforms, including the adoption and support of data warehousing and analytics solutions in Microsoft Fabric and Azure.
The position plays a key role in advancing Adams’ cloud and data strategy, ensuring secure, scalable, and high-performing systems across IT and operational environments. This individual partners with IT leadership, data teams, and operational stakeholders to support business intelligence, reporting, and uptime-critical production systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Architect, deploy, and manage hybrid infrastructure across on-premises and Microsoft Azure environments
Administer and support data infrastructure environments, including data warehousing solution and Microsoft products.
Collaborate with data/analytics teams to ensure infrastructure readiness for ETL/ELT pipelines, data ingestion, and reporting workloads
Optimize performance, scalability, and cost management of cloud-based data platforms
Administer and optimize core platforms including VMware, SAN/vSAN, backups, and identity systems (Active Directory, Entra AD)
Support and secure Operational Technology (OT) environments, including industrial networks and system integrations
Design and enforce network segmentation and security controls across IT, OT, and data environments
Implement security best practices across infrastructure and data platforms (MFA, conditional access, data governance support, Zero Trust)
Develop and maintain disaster recovery and backup strategies, including data platform resilience
Monitor system and data platform performance; define and report on KPIs and SLA adherence
Provide tier 3 escalation support for complex infrastructure and platform issues
Work with vendors and internal teams to evaluate and improve infrastructure and data solutions
Apply ITIL, LEAN, and project management methodologies to infrastructure and data initiatives
QualificationsRequired Qualifications:
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field (Or equivalent experience)
5–8+ years of experience in systems administration, including cloud environments
Skills and Competencies:
Strong experience with Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Fabric data platform components
Understanding of data warehousing concepts, including Lakehouse architecture, ETL/ELT pipelines, and data lifecycle management
Ability to support infrastructure requirements for analytics and BI workloads
Experience working in hybrid IT/OT environments with up-time-critical systems
Advanced troubleshooting across infrastructure, cloud, and data platforms
Knowledge of data security and governance principles in cloud environments
Scripting/automation experience (PowerShell, Azure CLI preferred)
Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical teams
Certifications/Licenses:
Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator / Solutions Architect
Microsoft Fabric / Data Engineering certifications (if applicable)
VMware VCP
Security certifications (Security+, CISSP, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications:
Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure infrastructure and data platform services (Fabric, Data Factory, or similar)
Experience supporting Microsoft, Backups, Zscaler, DPL and NDR solutions.
Experience with VMware and high-availability systems
Exposure to OT/industrial systems preferred
Working Conditions:
