Role Description:The Senior Technician, Telecommunication is responsible for assisting in the overall management, operational guidance, installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of telecommunications systems and equipment and services provided for DC Water. The incumbent will also be expected to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and provide expert guidance on telecommunications technologies. diagnose and resolve complex problems and billing issues with cellular phones and pagers, the Senior Technician acts as a key point of contact for technical issues, which will require maintaining an exceptionally high level of customer service for internal and external customers.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Develops and modifies user technical training materials. Trains users in proper use of equipment and system operation.
Maintain accurate records of installation processes, maintenance activities, and repair logs.

Key Working Relationships: Interacts with employees/contractors throughout DC Water.

Required Skills & Qualifications
Required Experience:A minimum of five (5) years of telecommunication (voice and data) experience.
Minimum Education Requirements:High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificate or an equivalent combination of education and experience consisting of an Associate’s degree in Telecommunications, Business, or a related field and three (3) years of telecommunication (voice and data) experience.Required Skills:Knowledge of Cisco, LAN and WAN environment for fiber optics connectivity.Strong Knowledge of telephony systems, data networking and telecommunications regulations, transition process, including planning the floor plan design, cabling infrastructure design, service testing, service acceptance and follow-up.Ability to use telecommunication field testing equipment voltmeter, Fluke LAN and WAN diagnostic tool, OTDR fiber optic tester, etc.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications
Preferred Experience:Minimum of 5 years of experience in telecommunications installation and maintenance.Preferred Education Requirements:NAPreferred Skills:Microsoft Teams, proficiency in troubleshooting networking issues and familiarity with fiber optic diagnostic tools. Strong knowledge of telephony systems.Preferred Licenses & Certifications:Voice/Data Telecommunication certificate
