Medical Office Assistant - Southeastern Surgical Specialists

University Physicians’ Association is seeking a friendly, organized, and dependable Medical Office Assistant to support both front desk and back-office functions in a busy surgical setting at Southeastern Surgical Specialists, located in Dayton, TN.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet patients and manage check-in and check-out processes
• Schedule patient appointments and answer incoming phone calls
• Verify insurance coverage and obtain prior authorizations and pre-certifications
• Perform insurance billing, coding, and submit clean claims
• Post payments and maintain accurate patient and billing records
• Assist with general office duties and help maintain a welcoming waiting room

 This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with patients and plays a key role in keeping an office running smoothly. Hours are Monday through Friday.

Requirements

• Prior experience in a medical office or healthcare setting preferred
• Familiarity with medical billing software, medical terminology, and CPT/ICD-10 coding
• Strong multitasking skills with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail
