As a member of the Quality team the
Quality Systems Coordinator ensures that the Quality of the products produced at CGT meet all Customer expectations/requirements by conducting and facilitating improvements, such as: Implementation of effective Corrective Actions and conducting Internal Audits. Take quick and effective actions when non-conformances are reported internally as well as externally. Assist in promoting Quality throughout the organization by ensuring that the Quality Management System requirements are in compliance.
Areas of Responsibility include:
Assist in maintaining the Quality Management System through compliance with established procedures.This role is the key contact for all external quality system audits.Customer claim management for a limited number of customers will be required.Provide field support, as required, and conduct “return material analysis” to assess the root cause of Customer complaints / Quality issues and give direction on appropriate corrective action.Facilitate the disposition of raw material on “HOLD”, in co-operation with the Product Development team, Manufacturing, Purchasing and the Supplier, as necessary, to help maintain inventory integrity.Assist in preparing monthly Quality reports as a communication tool for Quality performance to management. Submit weekly reports on Quality issues and trends.Regular status reports on Audits; open 8D’s; supplier chargebacks; IATF trendsProvide support as needed, to Supplier Quality, in cooperation with manufacturing to resolve raw material issues.Contain suspect material, while ensuring an adequate supply of acceptable material to support CGT Customers.
- Initiate corrective action report [8D or other] for Customer issues and work with CGT manufacturing and other areas to find and implement permanent corrective action
- Conduct internal manufacturing process audits to determine the degree of internal compliance with established product manufacturing and assessment requirements
- This position is the key owner / facilitator for Process FMEA development and maintenance. Participate in advanced Quality planning (APQP), failure mode analysis (FMEA) at all necessary pre-production Quality planning activities
- Must understand all phases of APQP, FMEA, Control Plans, PPAP plus good knowledge of SPC
- Interface with both Customers and suppliers on Quality related issues in the facility and at the Customer, candidate will act as the lead for problem solving activities related to Quality issues
- Effective oral and documented communication with Customers
- Prepare corrective action reports for Customers and internal concerns
- Develop Quality alerts for various Customers, internal and supplier issues
- Writes work instruction changes
- Communicates work instruction changes to appropriate areas of the business
- Ensure corrective actions are documented, implemented, effective and have timely closure
Required Qualifications, Education & Experience:
- Familiar with ISO/IATF 16949 QMS. Internal Auditor / Lead Auditor certification preferred
- As necessary, coordinate lab testing on required product
- Excellent time management, organizational and analytical skills
- Familiar with CI, Six Sigma, 8D problem solving, 5 Why’s, IS/IS NOT, Kepner Tregoe
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Mini-Tab
- Must hold valid passport or qualified to get one. Travel on short notice (USA, Mexico)
- ASQ certifications preferred
- 10+ years in an Automotive Environment (Textile, Plastics, Vinyl, Seating, Assembly)
Education:- Post-Secondary in Quality Assurance OR equivalent experience.
Working Conditions:
- Office/Plant work environment; candidates must be comfortable in an industrial environment
- Short notice travel to customer and supplier facilities.
- Travel to other CGT manufacturing locations.
