Audubon is currently seeking a Project Manager to join our team in our Houston, TX Office.The Project Manager (PM) serves as the single point of contact for all phases of atmospheric pipeline inspection and remediation projects. This role is responsible for planning, execution, financial management, compliance, and successful delivery of services related to exposed natural gas pipeline inspection, maintenance, and remediation activities.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Project Leadership & Execution
- Act as the primary liaison between Client representatives and Company project staff across all active Work Orders.
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee execution of inspection, remediation, and leak survey activities for exposed gas mains.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with SOW requirements, Work Orders, and applicable regulatory standards (e.g., 49 CFR Part 192).
- Manage multiple concurrent projects (“Work Orders”) across various geographic locations.
Work Order & Commercial Management
- Lead development, submission, and management of Work Orders, including scope, pricing, and resource planning.
- Ensure projects are delivered within approved budgets and “not-to-exceed” pricing structures.
- Identify scope changes and submit formal Change Requests with proper documentation within required timelines.
- Oversee invoicing accuracy, ensuring alignment with completed and approved work.
Team & Resource Management
- Manage and direct all Project Staff, including field crews and subcontractors.
- Ensure adequate staffing, qualifications, and certifications (including Operator Qualification compliance).
- Coordinate personnel availability, including local presence as required for project execution.
- Approve and manage subcontractor participation in accordance with Company requirements.
Compliance, Safety & Quality
- Ensure all work complies with Company standards, Operating Procedure Manual (OPM), and regulatory requirements.
- Enforce safety procedures, including traffic control plans, confined space entry, and work zone safety.
- Maintain quality control processes to ensure all inspection and remediation activities meet specifications.
- Coordinate with Company representatives (e.g., Corrosion Technicians) for inspections, approvals, and final acceptance.
Reporting & Communication
- Provide regular project updates, including required weekly progress reports and ad hoc reporting.
- Maintain clear communication with Company PM, field teams, and stakeholders.
- Ensure accurate electronic documentation of inspection and remediation results using Company-approved systems.
Technical Oversight
- Oversee execution of field activities, including:
- Pipeline inspections and condition assessments
- Coating repair (cleaning, wrapping, painting)
- Installation of FRP shields, supports, and test stations
- Leak detection surveys
- Ensure proper use of materials, equipment, and installation methods per specifications.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
Required
- 5+ years of project management experience in pipeline, utility, or infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of gas pipeline operations, corrosion control, and maintenance practices.
- Experience managing field crews and subcontractors.
- Hold an active AMPP CIP Level 2 certification.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites.
Preferred
- Hold an active AMPP Senior Certified Coatings Inspector certification (CIP Level 3).
- Experience with natural gas utilities or similar regulated environments.
- Experience with Atmospheric inspection programs, including bridge spans.
- Knowledge of 49 CFR Part 192 compliance requirements.
- Experience coordinating and executing work in roadway environments, including familiarity with State DOT traffic control plans, lane closures, and permitting requirements.
- Operator Qualification (OQ) certification or familiarity.
