About the role 

This is a senior leadership role within the finance function, responsible for overseeing core financial operations while helping shape how the function continues to evolve in a project‑based construction environment. 

Working closely with the CFO and broader leadership group, this role balances hands-on financial oversight with a forward-looking focus on systems, reporting and process improvement. It suits a finance leader who is comfortable operating across both detail and strategy, with the ability to influence and partner at an executive level while supporting project and operational teams. 

Key responsibilities include: 

• Overseeing financial reporting cycles, including month-end, year-end and consolidated outputs across multiple projects and entities 
• Ensuring accuracy, integrity and discipline across the general ledger, balance sheet and project cost reporting 
• Managing audit processes and statutory reporting obligations 
• Driving continuous improvement across financial controls, governance and compliance frameworks in a construction setting 
• Leading budgeting, forecasting and cashflow management activities, including project cashflow and working capital 
• Partnering with senior stakeholders to provide clear, commercial insight into business and project performance 
• Leading and developing the finance team, building capability, accountability and consistency 
• Supporting the implementation of improved systems, automation and reporting tools to better support project delivery 
• Uphold and monitor adherence to all company policies, procedures, and codes of conduct 

About you 

You are a confident and commercially minded finance leader who thrives in a changing, delivery‑focused environment. You enjoy building structure, lifting capability and improving processes, while working closely with operational and executive stakeholders to improve financial visibility and decision‑making. You take ownership of outcomes and bring clarity to complex financial information. 

You will bring: 

• CA or CPA qualification, with experience in project driven organisation 
• Proven experience in a senior finance role with responsibility for reporting, controls and compliance 
• Strong technical accounting capability across complex or multi‑entity environments 
• Demonstrated experience managing audit and statutory requirements 
• A commercial mindset with the ability to partner effectively with executive and operational leaders 
• Strong people leadership skills, with experience developing capable, accountable teams 
• A systems‑focused mindset and interest in improving reporting, automation and process efficiency
