Silentium Defence is a world leader in passive radar technology, delivering advanced capability into complex defence environments. We are seeking an IT Support Technician to join our team and help us to continue to ensure our systems are reliable, secure, and able to support the operational needs of a rapidly growing business.
This role is the central point of contact for all IT matters at Silentium Defence. You will manage day‑to‑day IT operations, provide exceptional support to staff and contractors, maintain and evolve our IT infrastructure, and strengthen our cyber security posture. This hands‑on, customer‑focused role requires strong technical capability, excellent communication skills, and the ability to prioritise effectively in a dynamic environment.
What you will do
- Provide end‑to‑end IT and AV support to all people at SD
- Prepare, provision, and maintain IT equipment, accounts, and access
- Respond promptly to helpdesk requests, resolving issues or escalating when required
- Develop user‑friendly support materials such as wikis and how‑to guides
- Troubleshoot system and network issues across Windows, Linux, MacOS, and mobile devices
- Ensure backups are performed and tested according to disaster recovery requirements
- Administer licensing and configurations for Microsoft 365, Atlassian, and other key applications
- Manage vendor relationships for IT and network hardware
- Develop and maintain cyber security policies, controls, and risk mitigation systems
- Ensure compliance with DISP, NIST, and other relevant cyber security frameworks
- Report regularly to management on progress, system performance, and key metrics
What you bring
- Tertiary qualification in IT, computer science, or a related discipline
- Australian citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain an NV1 security clearance
- Relevant qualification in cyber security
- Strong capability managing Linux and Windows workstations
- Demonstrated experience applying cyber security best practices
