About the role:
We are currently seeking an experienced and driven Claims Lead to join our Legal Services Team. This role plays a pivotal leadership function in overseeing all aspects of Workers Compensation Litigation in the coal mining scheme. You will guide a team located across all CMI offices. The team consists of Case Managers, Claims Officers and Legal Assistant. To be successful in this role, a high level of strategic and commercial acumen is required, as well as a strong technical ability. This is a key role that combines people leadership, operational oversight, and strategic input to support the delivery of high-quality outcomes Your proven leadership experience combined with exemplary communication skills, will see you successfully coach and mentor the team to achieve their potential and build upon a culture of customer service excellence and collaboration.
Your main responsibilities will include: • Provide leadership and direction whilst allocating and managing workloads • Promote a culture of customer service excellence and collaboration • Conduct regular claims reviews to ensure issues and opportunities are identified, reported and rectified • Ensure team complies with relevant legislation, industry codes and CMI and CSPL policy & procedures
About you:
Your education, experience and skills will include: • Minimum 5 years’ claims management experience • Knowledge of NSW workers compensation legislation as it relates to coal miners (desirable) • Demonstrated leadership experience managing and developing • Sound knowledge of claims administration procedures and related systems • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills • Professional qualification in the Personal Injury management field or business management field (desirable) • Strategic thinking and problem-solving capability • Effective organisational skills • Solid judgement and commercial acumen • Demonstrated behaviours aligned to our company values and culture - we care, we work together, we make a difference
