This position will pay a vital role in maintaining the health and safety program and ensuring continuous improvement related to Health & Safety at AirBoss.
Responsibilities: • Manages the health and safety program and related procedures and initiatives. · • As a safety advocate leads by example by complying with all plant and occupational health and safety policies. • Provides leadership and works with all staff to continually improve health and safety performance. • Works collectively to determine goals and strategies for compliance and continuous improvement, monitors progress and celebrates successes. • Identifies workplace hazards through completion of risk assessments for existing and new/modified equipment. • Develops programs to promote a safe and healthy culture. • Ensures legislative compliance and adherence to ISO 14001 • Works proactively to develop improvement initiatives that address workplace health and safety concerns. • Acts as a professional resource for the JHSC and other workplace committees. • Maintains a strong presence on the shop floor, is approachable and communicates openly. • Completes full review of safety data sheets for all new materials coming on site to ensure proper controls are in place prior to use • Acts as a mentor and key influencer. • Integrates and collaborates with all departments and employees. • Will have multi-location responsibility • Coordinates all safety related training as required • Manages and mentors a Health and Safety/Human Resources Assistant.
Requirements: • Post-secondary education in EHS, or a related field. • A minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in an industrial setting. • Knowledge of all related legislation and standards. • Excellent verbal and written skills, strong communication skills. • Must be a self-starter with the drive to achieve continuous improvements in the EHS field. • Must be passionate about their role and excel in their interactions with individuals at all levels of the organization. *Salary: $75,000-$110,000 a year
