Accountant - Payroll and Financial Reporting

Position Summary: 

The Accountant – Payroll and Financial Reporting will be reporting to the Director, Corporate Accounting and is a key contributor in high-volume payroll accounting operations and month-end close processes. This role is responsible for preparing payroll-related journal entries, managing payroll cash transactions, accruals, and recurring balance sheet reconciliations, while ensuring accurate balance sheet and P&L reporting in compliance with SOX and internal control standards. Partnering closely with Payroll and Accounting teams, the role supports financial close, variance analysis, audit requirements, and the timely delivery of payroll accounting processes in a control-driven environment. 

Roles and Responsibilities: 

• Payroll Accounting & Journal Entry Management 

• Prepare payroll journal entries and ensure accurate and timely upload into NetSuite ERP. 

• Ensure payroll costs are properly mapped to the correct cost centers, departments, and account classifications in accordance with Company policies. 

• Prepare and process payroll-related cash transactions, including weekly reconciliations of payroll cash accounts. 

• Prepare payroll and T&E accruals, as well as reclassification of journal entries, as required. 

• Account Reconciliations & Financial Controls 

• Complete monthly reconciliations of payroll-related general ledger accounts in compliance with SOX requirements and internal control standards. 

• Perform monthly flux and variance analysis on selected payroll accounts, identifying and explaining key movements. 

• Ensure accuracy, completeness, and proper supporting documentation for all payroll-related balance sheet accounts. 

• Reporting, Analysis & Audit Support 

• Support the Accounting Manager, Payroll Accounting in preparing ad hoc analysis, financial reporting, and management reporting requirements. 

• Assist in audit requests by providing supporting schedules, reconciliations, and documentation related to payroll and T&E accounts. 

• Ensure timely and accurate completion of deliverables in support of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes. 

Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field 

• At least 1 year of experience in Accounting and Finance with exposure to payroll  

• Experience with ERP system is required, preferably NetSuite 

• Good working knowledge of journal entries, accruals, reclassifications, and account reconciliations 

• Advanced proficiency in Excel and Google Suite 

• Proficiency in digital tools and software is an advantage 

• Effective written and verbal communication skills for collaboration with Payroll, Finance, and cross-functional teams 

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail 

• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities, with the capacity to manage recurring monthly and close deadlines 

• Ability to handle confidential and sensitive financial information with professionalism and discretion 

• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a growing team environment  

Work Arrangement:

• Willing to work during Eastern Time Zone Business Hours 
• Willing to work Fully Onsite (Cyberscape Gamma, Pasig City
• Earn up to 80,000/month depending on the experience
