Silentium Defence is a world leader in passive radar delivering advanced capability into complex defence environments. We are seeking a Quality Systems Specialist to take ownership of the quality function and embed comprehensive, quality-focused practices into the business operations, shaping outcomes, behaviours, and driving culture.
This role will lead and evolve the Quality Management System, to ensure requirements for ISO 9001 are maintained and compliant. This hands-on, cross-functional role supports a growing business by maintaining an audit-ready, fit-for-purpose system while driving continuous improvement and strong quality practices. You will play a key role in fostering a quality-driven culture, leveraging data and digital tools to enhance visibility, risk management, and decision-making throughout the business.
What you will do
- End‑to‑end integrity, operation, and usability of the ISO 9001 QMS, ensuring the system remains aligned to the needs and maturity of the business
- Integrate quality into the broader Business Management System
- Plan, manage, and execute the internal audit program, acting as the primary interface for the ISO certification body
- Ensure audit findings are driven to effective closure in a timely manner
- Approach document management and generation with a consistent improvement mindset, simplifying the process to suit the business needs
- Design and deliver pragmatic quality awareness training, building capability within the workforce
- Actively build and reinforce a culture where quality, accountability, and continuous improvement are owned by the business
What you bring
- A qualification in quality management or significant demonstrated experience in the field
- Lead Auditor certification or experience as a lead auditor
- Strong experience with QMS systems including their ongoing maintenance and development to meet the ISO 9001 standard
- Strong analytical, decision making and root cause analysis skills
- Ability drive a quality focused culture through a collaborative approach
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills and the ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
Eligibility
- Australian citizenship is mandatory
- Ability to obtain and maintain an NV1 security clearance
- Ability to comply with ITAR requirements
