

Job Purpose
Responsible for credit risk assessment along with the Relationship Managers (RMs), meeting the customers, preparing Credit Proposals (CPs) and liaising with Wholesale Risk Management (WRM) and the Compliance Unit to resolve all queries related to risk and compliance issues, respectively.
Key Result Areas
Grow Islamic book by onboarding new to bank Islamic clients across CIBG & IBG
Identify and close new opportunities within existing corporate book across the bank
Focus on all cross-sell opportunities for GTB/TCM/RBG emanating from wholesale transactions and relationships to the extent those relationships are being managed by the job holder or his/her team, which may occur for some IBG Islamic relationships
Ensure the new business and transactions are proactively managed as per Shariah guidelines and bank’s policies, with risks properly identified and mitigated, credit process complied, maintaining a satisfactory audit rating and high level of compliance
Develop strong working relations with all existing Islamic clients at the decision-making level, to position MB as their preferred bank.
Maintain an active pipeline, focusing on ‘new to bank’ and “existing client” transactions / business.
Work with all stakeholders of wholesale business groups to effectively implement “Selling Islamic First” directives of the Shariah Supervisory Board
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Minimum 10 years of wholesale banking experience of which 5 Yrs of Islamic banking experience is a must.
Must have experience in origination of wholesale transactions & deals (bilateral and syndications), and dynamics of such transactions in multiple geographies.
Must possess bachelor’s in business (BBA). However, MBA, CFA would be a preference.
Strong credit and marketing skills along-with intuitive / judgment skills to evaluate risks beyond the obvious.
Strong interpersonal and communication ability.
