

The Role
We are looking for an Executive Assistant extraordinaire to support our General Manager Drainage and Water and wider leadership team!
Working closely with our General Manager Drainage and Water (GM), you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth delivery of operational and strategic priorities across the district. You’ll be someone who can confidently pick up a wide range of tasks, use initiative, and keep things moving in a fast-paced environment.
Key aspects of the role include managing the GM’s diary, coordinating meetings, screening and responding to communications, preparing correspondence, and providing high-quality administrative support to the wider Drainage and Water Group.
You’ll work across the entire Group, acting as a key enabler for operational teams while helping to keep business-critical activities and projects on track. In addition, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to significant strategic initiatives, including supporting the coordination and establishment of the Joint Water Organisation between Mackenzie and Timaru District Councils.
The Person
This exciting role requires someone who is always a step ahead, pre-empting what is required, along with having a naturally positive and forward thinking approach. Your attention to detail is second to none, and when it comes to juggling multiple priorities – you have it covered.
Your ‘can do’ attitude and excellent organisation skills are a must in this dynamic and ever-evolving environment. You will be highly professional, reliable and work well under pressure. Your MS Office skills are in a class all of their own and you’re a whizz at preparing reports, correspondence and presentations.
Your ability to communicate appropriately to a variety of internal and external stakeholders, including the general public is essential.
