This is not a traditional family office hire. We're looking for a sharp, operationally minded leader — someone with the instincts of a VP of Finance/Operations who thrives when given autonomy and a broad mandate. You'll be the single point of accountability for all things finance and operations running the day-to-day so the CEO doesn't have to.
The right person is a self-starter who doesn't wait for direction. You see what needs to get done and you do it. You build processes where none exist, flag issues before they become problems, and communicate clearly without being asked. Family office experience is not required — what matters is that you're resourceful, organized, and relentlessly execution-oriented.
What You'll Do:
- Own the budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning process across all entities and accounts.
- Build and maintain financial models that give the CEO clear visibility into cash flow, liquidity, net worth, and portfolio performance.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reporting packages with variance analysis and actionable insights.
- Develop KPIs and dashboards to track financial health across holdings.
- Day-to-Day Financial OperationsCoordinate annual tax planning and preparation across all entities in partnership with external tax counsel.
- Monitor regulatory and compliance obligations and ensure nothing falls through the cracks
Maintain organized records, documentation, and filing systems.
- Investment & Asset OversightServe as the operational backbone of the family office — if it touches money, it's yours!
- Identify and implement tools, systems, and workflows that improve efficiency with an AI focus.
Handle ad hoc projects and strategic initiatives as they arise.
- Provide the CEO with the information and analysis needed to make decisions quickly and confidently
- Track and report on investment performance across asset classes (real estate, equities, alternatives, etc.)
Support due diligence on new investments and capital allocation decisions
Liaise with wealth managers, fund administrators, and other investment partners
Operational Leadership
- Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and treasury functions across all accounts
Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, bill pay, and expense management
Coordinate and manage relationships with external accountants, tax advisors, attorneys, and investment managers
Ensure all entities are properly structured, compliant, and operating efficiently
Tax & Compliance
What You'll need to bring to Maropost
- 7–12+ years of experience in FP&A, corporate finance, or a VP of Finance or Operations role — ideally in a fast-paced, lean environment where you wore many hats.
- Strong financial modeling, forecasting, and analytical skills.
- Deep understanding of financial statements, tax structures, and entity management.
- Comfortable managing external advisors and holding them accountable.
- Exceptional organizational skills — you keep track of everything and nothing slips.
- High EQ and discretion — you'll be handling sensitive and confidential information.
- Strong written and verbal communication — you can distill complexity into clear recommendations.
- Tech-savvy and comfortable building out systems and processes from scratch.
- Above all: you are a self-starter who takes ownership, operates with urgency, and gets things done without being told what to do.
