Position Summary: We are seeking a reliable and skilled Regional Journeyman Service Electrician with strong technical expertise and the ability to complete service work with minimal supervision. This regional role supports multiple properties and client sites, requiring travel within the assigned territory. The ideal candidate is experienced in troubleshooting, performing repairs, and managing tasks efficiently while maintaining a high standard of safety and professionalism.
Key Roles / Responsibilities:
- Perform electrical service work, including troubleshooting, repairs, installations, and maintenance for commercial and/or residential clients across the region.
- Diagnose electrical issues quickly and implement effective, long-term solutions.
- Work independently on assigned service calls, ensuring tasks are completed accurately, safely, and on schedule.
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, equipment, and components in accordance with National Electrical Code (NEC) standards and company guidelines.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, and work orders.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and national electrical codes and safety regulations.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with customers and tenants, explaining required work and providing recommendations when needed.
- Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, materials used, and time spent on service calls.
- Safely operate hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, lifts, and ladders.
- Assist with mentoring apprentices and less experienced electricians as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Texas Journeyman Electrician License
- 3–5 years of commercial electrical experience
- Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and electrical safety standards
- Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple service requests across various locations
- Strong communication and customer service skills, particularly in tenant-facing environments
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in commercial buildings or property maintenance environments
- Familiarity with HVAC electrical components
- Experience with emergency lighting systems and backup generators
- Knowledge of low-voltage systems, including data and security wiring
- Experience with energy-efficient systems, retrofits, and electrical upgrades
- Basic knowledge of other trades (HVAC, plumbing, general maintenance)
Working Conditions:
- Bending, lifting, climbing, pushing, pulling, kneeling, sitting stand, walk, kneel, stoop, squat, pull, push, climb, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, and see and standing (occasionally) for long periods of time.
- The essential duties of this position require moderate to heavy lifting and carrying.
- Prolonged periods of sitting on a forklift or other warehouse equipment.
- Exposure to moderate noise levels, vibrations, and bright lights; and exposure to dust, fumes, and gases; and all climate types including hot and cold temperatures, humidity, rain, snow, etc.
- Able to wear common protective or safety equipment such as safety shoes, glasses, gloves, hearing protection, breathing protection, and hard hats when needed.
- Able to work under stressful conditions at times.
- React quickly using hands, fingers, or feet.
- Must be able to move and lift to 40-pound wooden skid or pallet.
- Ability to travel throughout facility as required to conduct safety inspections.
- Must be able to comprehend and follow written and oral instructions.
- Must be able to complete tasks even with frequent interruptions.
- Must be able to use discretion and independent judgment as needed.
- Must be able to speak clearly on the phone and to fellow workers
