It is requested that you obtain in writing, confirmation from your home Administration/Agency/Service/Government that it agrees with these CONDITIONS OF SECONDMENT. SUMMARY OF THE ASSIGNED DUTIES, INCLUDING GOALS AND OBJECTIVES OF THE POST
The Executive Directorate for Capacity Building and Innovation (EDCI) strengthens member countries' policing capabilities through training, technology, and innovation. Within the EDCI, the Innovation Centre aspires to become a premier entity that law enforcement agencies worldwide actively engage with to enhance their technical innovation and capabilities in preparing for emerging technologies, and to leverage these technologies for the optimisation and efficiency of policing activities. Under the supervision of the Assistant Director and the Head, the post holder will lead outreach and partnership initiatives supporting Strategic Innovation, overseeing a specialised range of activities. Through direct supervision of staff, the incumbent will ensure that the Organization's policies, strategic objectives, and operational goals are communicated, understood, and fully implemented within Strategic Innovation. Additionally, the post holder will ensure the team's efficient functioning, driving effective performance and delivering measurable outputs.
The objective is to foster a culture of innovation within INTERPOL by supporting member countries through: the identification of challenges faced by the Organization and its members; the development of groundbreaking policing initiatives; and the establishment of internationally agreed policing standards. This will be underpinned by a collaborative expert platform that brings together law enforcement, private sector partners, and academia. The post holder will be expected to work collaboratively with colleagues across the Innovation Centre and INTERPOL's internal directorates. Building and enhancing partnerships with external entities—including international organizations, academic institutions, and the private sector—is crucial to achieving member countries' objectives. Consequently, the post holder will have unique opportunities to collaborate with officers from outside the Organization, providing a distinctive experience for police officers from their respective countries.
