Responsibilities

Houlihan Lokey is offering a 6-month internship opportunity working within the Debt Advisory team at their Milan office. The internship is an excellent opportunity to work alongside investment bankers in a stimulating environment on assignments for clients in various industries.

As an Intern, you will help provide support across transactions, gaining exposure to various debt products and financing structures, such as bank debt/senior loans, unitranche debt, subordinated debt and hybrid instruments. This may be applied across a variety of situations, including growth capital, LBO/ acquisition financing, refinancings and repricings, dividend recapitalizations, and special situations. You will work with talented, dedicated professionals who will give you broad exposure to the many different issues and concerns affecting companies and investors today.

You will research and analyse financial statements using financial models, economic conditions, industry-specific developments, and investment attributes of publicly traded and private companies. You will also assist in preparing client ready presentations and process materials as well as co-ordinating client and lender calls.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Previous internship experience in investment banking, private debt, debt advisory, rating advisory, or consulting
• Verbal and written fluency in both Italian and English (additional language skills are also advantageous)
• Must be in final year of university or recently graduated, preferably studying for a master's in finance, economics, or management
• Strong analytical and accounting skills
• Good knowledge of/experience with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
• Must be motivated and have the ability to work cooperatively with all levels of staff in a rapidly changing, demanding, but ultimately rewarding environment
