This is a full-time position for 40 hours per week. Appointment remuneration will depend on experience and exposure.
The opportunity
Starting as a Project Manager within our Treatment and Control Systems team, you’ll deliver minor capital work projects across Wellington Water’s treatment plants and act as the key operational interface for medium-to-high complexity projects. You’ll ensure projects are delivered safely on time, and in alignment with our commitment to safe, reliable, and sustainable water services.
Within the Project Lifecycle you will:
Work closely with operators, vendors and stakeholders to ensure operational impacts are minimised and site commissioning tasks are undertaken.
Manage, assess and schedule activities to ensure projects run within feasible timelines.
Manage project scope, budget, schedule, and risks to achieve operational excellence.
Support engineering and design solutions from concept to handover.
Manage documentation and handover requirements including ongoing assessment and maintenance.
Promote safe work practices and environmental protection in all project activities.
Support overall work programme planning, procurement activities and vendor relationship management.
About you
This role would suit a process engineer, or plant operator with project planning or execution experience that wants to expand and deepen their project management practice, or a project manager that has experience within plant or operational facilities.
To be successful in this role you will bring:
A relevant engineering qualification such as a diploma with a current NZ drivers licence.
Previous experience managing project with a good understanding of project management principles.
An understanding of Water and wastewater treatment processes or extensive experience working within a similar setting.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
Good vendor management and relationship experience.
