About the Role
Culmen is seeking an Executive Food Manager to oversee all onsite food service operations in Caracas, Venezuela. This position requires living in-country.
What You’ll Do in Your New Role
- Maintain a safe workplace, ensuring safety remains the highest operational priority.
- Ensure compliance with all Environmental, Safety, and Quality Assurance requirements, providing required documentation and support as needed.
- Manage, monitor, and oversee food service operations across all sites.
- Allocate and manage food service staffing resources in response to changing operational requirements.
- Identify operational issues and respond to mission and task order requirements.
- Control food service resources, monitor staff qualifications and performance, track food service assets, and coordinate information flow with staff and U.S. Government representatives.
- Resolve food service–related issues in a timely and effective manner.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of food service management experience supporting large-scale, non-military operations, such as college campus cafeterias or high-volume restaurant environments.
- Associate’s degree in food and Beverage, or Hospitality field or discipline
OR
- 10+ years of direct experience in food and beverage service management in lieu of formal education.
- English proficiency.
- Eligibility Requirement - US Citizen (This requirement is necessary to meet the security and eligibility requirements for the performance of this contract).
- Possess a valid driver's license.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of food service operations for comparable large-scale facilities.
- Proven ability to lead and manage food service and logistics staff.
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities simultaneously, and adapt quickly to changing requirements and schedules.
- Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as an effective member of a team.
- Innovative mindset with the ability to drive continuous improvement and implement change.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to supervise staff, prepare reports for senior management, and disseminate information effectively.
Desired Qualifications
- Currently hold a Public Trust or active security clearance.
- Relevant overseas facilities management experience.
- Previous international experience and previous work experience in harsh environmental conditions.
- Experience working with Contractor.
- Cross-cultural sensitivity with an international perspective.
