Role summary
The Senior HRIS Engineer will play a hands-on role in DDN’s multi-year business systems modernization. You will work on enhancing DDN’s HR technology ecosystem, with Workday as the core HCM platform while driving innovation in and around it through modern orchestration technology and workplace ai. Partnering closely with HR, Finance, and technical teams on solution design, our team is a group of highly talented, dedicated professionals who will challenge and empower you to solve big problems.
What you’ll do
· Serve as a key engineer for our Workday HCM deployment including configuration, testing, documentation, and ongoing enhancements in areas such as core HCM, time, absence, advanced comp, payroll, and benefits
· Partner with HR stakeholders to translate business needs into practical system designs, process improvements, and supportable solutions.
· Configure and maintain HR business processes, security, calculated fields, reports, dashboards, and data validations as needed.
· Work closely with integration and automation team to improve connectivity between Workday and other internal/external applications for operations, analytics, workflow automation, and embedded ai
· Help establish strong operational discipline through clear documentation, ticket handling, sprint participation, and visible delivery tracking.
What we’re looking for
· 4–7 years of experience in HRIS, HCM systems, or Workday-focused engineering/analyst roles
· Practical experience in several of the following areas: Core HR, Staffing, Reporting, Time Off/Absence, Learning, Recruiting, Talent, Payroll, Benefits.
· Experience supporting system enhancements, implementations, or post-go-live optimization in a growth environment
· Data-driven mindset; able to use reporting and process insight to guide recommendations.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain system behavior and tradeoffs clearly
· A curious, service-oriented approach and a genuine interest in understanding the business context behind requirements.
Nice to have
· Experience working in global or multi-country HR environments
· Exposure to Peakon, LMS platforms, or HR integrations.
· Experience partnering on automation, integrations, or AI-enabled workflow improvements.
