Job Summary
To be the first to welcome and the last to encourage the return of all guests. Handling of guest luggage, opening of doors, assisting with valet services, welcoming of guests and supervision of hotel circular driveway.
Role and Responsibilities
- Anticipate guests’ needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests.
- Responsible for providing a seamless and exceptional guest arrival and departure experience, including:
- Opening doors of cars and welcoming guests to the hotel and retrieving their luggage from the cars.
- Opening and closing doors for guests while welcoming them to the hotel.
- Facilitates the smooth and efficient operation of the Front Entrance ensuring the highest level of guest service is provided.
- Handles all guest inquiries and comments, follows up in a professional and efficient manner.
- Assist’s guests with transportation and entertainment information.
- Be familiar with all hotel services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately.
- Assist Bellperson whenever necessary.
- Assist Front Desk with parking and vehicle information.
- Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction.
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas
- Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards
- Ensure that the Door is attended at all times; that all posting positions are maintained.
- Maintain security and accurate record of all guest room keys issued to Bell/Door Staff.
- Anticipate guests’ need, respond promptly and acknowledge all guest.
- Ensure that all pertinent information is documented in the log book daily.
- Remain in assigned post position, maintaining correct stance.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1-year guest service experience in a Hotel or related industry; experience within a luxury hotel environment is a plus.
- Post-secondary degree in tourism or hospitality is preferred.
- Must be able to perform heavy lifting (luggage, packages, boxes)
- Must have a valid G Ontario Drivers License
- Must have excellent oral/written communication and interpersonal skills and must be able to interact with all levels of guests in a professional and cordial manner.
- Energetic and outgoing, with a positive attitude, driven to provide an outstanding guest service experience.
- Flexible shift availability including evenings, weekends and holidays.
