Wine Sales Specialist (12-month fixed term) – Yarra Valley
Balgownie Estate is looking for an experienced wine sales professional to step into a high-impact, fixed-term role focused on driving sales performance across our portfolio, reducing inventory, and exploring wholesale and export relationships. Salary: Competitive base salary plus a great bonus structure, with the opportunity to earn up to $80,000 per year in bonus in addition to your base salary (subject to performance and plan terms).
The role
- 12-month full time, fixed-term role with the potential to extend or move to a permanent position.
- This role is a hybrid role with 2-3 days a week on site in the Yarra Valley.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and deliver quarterly sales plans, forecasts and performance reporting (volume, margin, growth).
- Implement ranging, pricing and promotional activity to accelerate inventory drawdown.
- Manage wholesale distributor agreements and improve account performance through strong relationship management.
- Identify and convert new business opportunities in existing and emerging markets (including export potential).
- Negotiate commercial terms and maintain an effective pipeline and leads tracking process.
- Represent Balgownie Estate at trade events, launches and key customer meetings.
About you
- 5+ years’ experience in wine sales/business development (or a related FMCG commercial role) with proven target achievement.
- Sound understanding of wholesale/on-premise/off-premise and export channels, plus logistics and inventory fundamentals.
- Strong commercial acumen and confidence negotiating terms and managing distributor/customer relationships.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; organised, analytical and action-oriented.
- Advanced wine knowledge and Commerce7 experience desirable.
- Full Australian driver’s licence and willingness to travel weekly to the Yarra Valley and interstate as required.
