The LNG Operations Coordinator II will be responsible for coordinating day-to-day operational activities of the Seaspan Energy LNG Bunker Tanker fleet, ensuring accurate planning documentation, and facilitating clear communication across all stakeholders. The role also involves monitoring performance and supporting vessel needs during ship-to-ship (STS) LNG transfer operations. Note: Due to business needs, this position is required to be fully on-site based at 7700 Hopcott Road, Delta.
What you'll do
- Work directly with the Manager of Commercial Operations to interface with new customers and retrieve customer vessel data.
- Interface with engineering consultants to deliver STS safety zone analysis, mooring reports, and arrangement drawings.
- Prepare Joint Procedure of Bunkering Operations (JPBO).
- Ensure required equipment for each STS operation is identified and available onboard the vessel ahead of execution.
- Contribute to the development of STS operational procedures including liaising with consultants and OEM’s.
- Support in the facilitation of new Port Authorizations and risk assessments.
- Coordinate vessel operational schedules for Seaspan Ship to Ship LNG bunkering activities.
- Coordinate and facilitate JPBO review and checklist meetings, ensuring timely document exchange, stakeholder alignment and effective follow-up actions.
- Act as the primary point of contact, providing on-call shore based support with the opportunity to attend LNG bunkering events from time to time. This includes root cause analysis and coordination with external consultants and OEMs when required.
- Catalogue lessons learned and coordinate lessons learned meetings internally and externally.
- Drive continuous improvement by updating and refining STS procedures and JPO based on lessons learned and operational feedback.
- Create and manage document repository for all operational, commercial and compliance documentation.
- Maintain inventory tracking of inbound and outbound LNG volumes for each bunker vessel, ensuring accuracy, reconciliation and data integrity.
- Maintain inventory log of specialized transfer equipment including procurement of new equipment as necessary.
- Ownership of customs and reporting accounts.
- Technical writing of documents including SOPs, checklists, training material, etc.
- Conduct vessel visits as required.
- Perform other duties as required.
What you'll bring
- Completion of Grade 12 education, plus post-secondary courses relevant to the area of administration.
- Post-secondary degree/technical diploma in marine engineering or naval architecture or nautical science is highly desirable.
- 5+ years of relevant work experience (strong preference for marine industry) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with LNG/LPG and LNG/LPG vessels is highly desirable.
- Adaptable to dynamic work schedules, maintaining operational effectiveness in fast-paced and high-demand maritime environments.
- Passionate and takes pride in one’s profession with a desire for continuous learning and improvement.
- Excited to positively contribute to a small and dynamic team.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Visio.
- Excellent English communication, both written and verbal.
- Ability to independently conduct business in a professional and ethical manner.
- Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and drawings.
- Demonstrated abilities to gain respect and trust from both internal and external parties.
- Proficient in AutoCAD for technical drafting and preparation of operational diagrams seen as an advantage.

The estimated salary for this position is $72,000 - $88,000. In determining final salary, Seaspan considers many factors including the successful Candidate’s skillset and experience as well as position location and internal equity. The final base salary offer will be at the Company’s sole discretion and presented as part of a competitive total compensation package.
