Overview

The Espiña RG is looking for a Research Assistant to join the team to work under the project CIORGANISMOS.

Job Duties

The job duties will be the following:

• Synthesise and characterise covalent organic frameworks and building blocks thereof.
• Prepare and characterise supported covalent organic frameworks.
• Evaluate the efficiency of water contaminants’ adsorption using supported covalent organic frameworks.
• Develop solid-phase extraction cartridges and passive samplers for water monitoring and contaminants’ extraction.
• Data analysis and reporting.
• Publications writing.

Mandatory Qualifications

Education

• MSc in Chemistry or equivalent.

Experience and Technical Skills

• Experience in synthesis of bulk covalent organic frameworks (COFs) and COFs supported in diverse micro- and nanomaterials (e.g., polystyrene beads, silica particles, electrospun fibers).
• Experience in COFs and their composites’ characterisation by SEM, FTIR, N2 physisorption (BET), TGA, XRD, SAXS.
• Experience in liquid-solid adsorption characterisation, particularly in water matrix, kinetics, isotherms, reuse, pH influence, etc.
• Experience in water environmental chemistry.
