An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Digital, Data & Technology (DDaT) department as a Modern Workplace & End-User Computing Engineer. In this role, you will support the deployment, management, and day-to-day operation of our end-user computing (EUC) and Modern Workplace platforms.
This position offers excellent hands-on experience with Microsoft 365, endpoint management, and workplace collaboration services. Based at our Headquarters, you will contribute to operational delivery, device lifecycle management, and cloud-based workplace support while developing your technical expertise alongside senior engineers.
Responsibilities
assist with the deployment, configuration, and support of end-user computing devices including Windows desktops/laptops, patching and imaging
support the administration of modern workplace platforms, including Microsoft 365 (Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Exchange) and Azure AD/Entra ID
help manage devices using Microsoft Intune and maintain compliance with endpoint and security policies
provide first and second line support, troubleshooting incidents and service requests, escalating complex issues to senior engineers
assist with OS upgrades, device refresh cycles, and small to medium modern workplace rollout projects
ensure incidents and service requests are handled in line with ITIL procedures and maintain accurate documentation, runbooks, and standard operating procedures.
Experience and skills
Essential
practical experience (1-3 years) in IT support, end-user computing, or a similar IT operational role
strong troubleshooting skills across desktop hardware, applications, and user access
familiarity with Windows 10/11 desktop environments, basic troubleshooting, patching, and software installation
basic to intermediate knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications and an understanding of endpoint management concepts
awareness of IT service management processes and ITIL principles
strong customer service, communication and documentation skills with a willingness to learn.
Desirable skills or experience
exposure to Microsoft Intune, Autopilot, Azure AD, or configuration management
experience with hardware refresh projects or application packaging tools
scripting experience, particularly using PowerShell
relevant qualifications or certifications such as ITIL V4/V5 Foundation, Microsoft certifications (MS-102, MD-102, SC-300), or CompTIA A+.
