Project Description
To support the Government of the Republic of Mozambique (GRM) in advancing sustained, country-led HIV and AIDS epidemic control, the U.S. Government awarded the Efficiencies for Clinical HIV Outcomes (ECHO) project to Abt Global on April 18, 2019. ECHO works in close coordination with the Ministério da Saúde (MISAU), provincial and district health authorities, and local partners through established joint planning and performance review mechanisms.
The Opportunity
The Health Information Systems (HIS) Officer will support the design, implementation, and optimization of health information systems, with a primary focus on DHIS2, interoperability, and data analytics. The position sits within the Strategic Information team and reports to the DHIS2 Manager, working closely with the HIS Engineer working with patient-level health data to support system integration, data quality, and reporting aligned with MISAU and PEPFAR requirements.
Core Responsibilities
The HIS Officer is responsible for ensuring that health information systems produce accurate, complete, consistent, and reliable data to support routine reporting and informed decision-making. The role contributes to system strengthening through configuration, interoperability, database management, and data visualization, ensuring that health data systems remain functional, integrated, and responsive to program and reporting needs. The HIS Officer works in close collaboration with the project Health Information Systems Managers (EPTS and DHIS2) and other relevant system stakeholders, to support effective data use and ongoing improvements across health information platforms.

A Oportunidade

O(a) Oficial reportará ao(à) Gestor(a) de DHIS2 e trabalhará em estreita coordenação com o Engenheiro de Sistemas de Dados Agregados. A função integra a equipa de Informação Estratégica e apoia a integração de sistemas, a qualidade de dados e os processos de reporte alinhados com os requisitos do MISAU e do PEPFAR.
O(a) Oficial de HIS contribuirá com conhecimento técnico em configuração de sistemas, interoperabilidade, gestão de bases de dados e visualização de dados, garantindo que os sistemas de dados de saúde sejam funcionais, integrados e responsivos às necessidades programáticas e de reporte, particularmente no contexto dos programas de HIV/SIDA.
Principais Responsabilidades
O(a) Oficial de HIS é responsável por assegurar que os sistemas de dados e os produtos de informação sejam precisos, completos, consistentes e fiáveis. A função apoia o reporte rotineiro, o fortalecimento dos sistemas e o uso de dados para a tomada de decisão. O seu trabalho será realizado em estreita colaboração com os Gestores de Sistemas de Informação em Saúde do projeto (EPTS e DHIS2) e outros sistemas relevantes.
