As our new Material Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of Peak Performance products. You lead the strategic and operational execution of our seasonal material development, ensuring that every material we choose meets the highest standards in performance, quality, sustainability and compliance.
This role is based at our HQ in Stockholm, where you will be part of our Product & R&D organization. You will report directly to the Head of R&D and Material, working closely with cross‑functional teams to drive our material strategy forward.
You act as the central link between Product, Design, Development, Sustainability and our suppliers — driving clarity, alignment and momentum throughout the product creation process, and ensuring that our materials strategy is executed with precision and impact.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead and drive seasonal material development execution in alignment with the Material Strategy, sustainability targets and material compliance requirements
Own prioritization, planning, and flow of material development activities
Act as the primary materials interface towards Product, Design, and Development teams during the NPD process
Ensure materials meet requirements for performance, quality, cost, timing, and risk and applicable chemical and regulatory standards
Identify and manage material‑related compliance risks, including chemical content and regulatory constraints, in close collaboration with Sustainability, Quality and Certification functions
Coordinate material developers and platform owners to secure clear ownership and efficient decision‑making
Proactively identify risks, trade‑offs, and opportunities, and escalate when needed
Contribute to continuous improvement of processes, ways of working, and governance

Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Textile Engineering, Material Science, Product Development, or equivalent
5–7+ years experience within material development, R&D, sourcing, or product development in the outdoor/alpine apparel/textile industry
Experience working cross‑functionally in a product development environment
Solid understanding of materials, development timelines, and supplier collaboration
Proficient in PLM systems, preferably Centric, CLO and 3D material scanning
Material chemical knowledge, in the regulatory environment, PFAS in particular
Relevant experience working with material‑related certifications and standards (e.g. bluesign®, OEKO‑TEX®, GRS, RWS), ensuring compliance throughout material development.
Fluent in English, spoken and written
