At Alva Industries, you’ll get hands-on experience with the next generation of electric drive systems – at the intersection of control engineering, electronics, and system integration.
As a Motion Control Systems Engineer, you’ll play a key role in testing, tuning, and validating Alva’s electric motors.
You will collaborate closely with both the development team and external customers to ensure precise motor control and high performance in real-world applications.
The role combines hands-on lab testing, analysis, troubleshooting, and automation of test processes. It’s a great fit for an electrical, mechatronics, or automation engineer with 2–7 years of experience who enjoys practical, hands-on work.
Test and tune motor controllers for position, speed, and torque
Integrate Alva’s motors with third-party drives and customer systems
Troubleshoot and optimize motor and control systems
Use lab equipment such as oscilloscopes and power analyzers
Document results and contribute to test setups and demos
Has a solid understanding of control theory (PID, loop stability)
Can read electronic schematics and work practically with test and measurement equipment
Enjoys hands-on work, analytical problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration
Experience with Field-Oriented Control (FOC) or tuning of servo/motor controllers
Knowledge of encoders, sensors, and power testing
Experience from lab work, prototyping, or customer integration
Knowledge of CANOpen, EtherCAT, or similar communication protocols
Industry experience in automotive, robotics or industrial automation
Proficiency in C#/Python, or similar languages for test automation
