About the program
The Allied Health Program provides professional services to the diverse communities of the City of Yarra and beyond, supporting people across a range of funding streams including the Aging Well Service, Community Health, NDIS and Support at Home.
Our multidisciplinary team works across the lifespan, supporting both children and adults to improve health, independence and wellbeing.
About the role
The Allied Health Assistant works collaboratively across the program to support clinicians in delivering high quality care to community members across the age spectrum. This role may involve working with both children and adults in individual and group settings, as well as supporting service access and program delivery.
Key responsibilities include:
Assist clinicians in the planning and delivery of individual and group therapy sessions
Support clients to participate in programs under clinician supervision
Assist with home visits, including equipment delivery, setup and education
Facilitate pre planned therapy activities and contribute to resource development
Conduct follow up communication with clients and stakeholders
Support administration, intake processes, and maintenance of client records
Assist in the delivery and coordination of group programs
About you
You are a collaborative and adaptable Allied Health Assistant who is passionate about supporting diverse communities and working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Certificate III or IV in Allied Health Assistance or equivalent
Experience supporting allied health services across individual and group settings
Strong understanding of community health and person centred care
Ability to work both independently and within a team
Experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse communities
Strong communication skills, including documentation and data entry
Good organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
