Join our Turku office as an HVAC & Piping Engineer to be part of our EPC Division. You will be responsible for the engineering, coordination, and delivery of HVAC and piping systems for large-scale EPC projects. Reporting to the Project Engineer or Project Manager, you will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, vendors, and site personnel. You will ensure systems are designed, documented, and executed to meet project specifications, applicable codes, and client requirements.
Engineering & Design
Lead the background and basic design of HVAC and piping systems across international projects from concept to detailed design.
Develop system layouts, equipment selections, and overall technical solutions in line with project requirements.
Prepare and review key engineering documentation such as drawings, technical specifications, and datasheets.
Ensure designs comply with applicable project specifications, codes, standards, and classification requirements.
Coordinate HVAC and piping interfaces with other engineering disciplines to ensure integrated and feasible solutions.
Project Coordination & Procurement Support
Coordinate design tasks and information flow between internal teams, clients, shipyards, and suppliers.
Prepare technical specifications, scope of supply, engineering schedules, and material-related documentation.
Support procurement activities by reviewing vendor documentation, participating in technical evaluations, and clarifying requirements.
Act as a technical liaison in project meetings with yards, owners, suppliers, and classification societies.
Site Support & Quality
Provide technical support during installation, testing, and commissioning phases as required.
Participate in inspections, testing activities, and issue resolution in cooperation with site and QA/QC teams.
Ensure engineering activities follow ALMACO’s Quality System and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Support HSE and quality processes related to engineering and site activities.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical discipline
Minimum 5 years of experience in HVAC and piping engineering within EPC, construction, marine, or industrial project environments
Proven experience producing HVAC and piping design deliverables, equipment selection, and technical specifications
Knowledge of relevant codes, standards and pressure piping practices
Experience with CAD and 3D modelling tools (AutoCAD, AVEVA) and Microsoft Office
Strong coordination, communication, and problem‑solving skills with the ability to work in fast‑paced, site‑based project teams
Familiarity with construction practices, certifying authority requirements, and international standards
You take ownership of your engineering scope, proactively identify issues, and propose practical, technically sound solutions
You work in a structured, organized manner, maintaining accurate documentation and schedule follow‑up
You collaborate effectively across disciplines and with external stakeholders, including vendors and site teams
You communicate clearly and proactively to keep project teams aligned and support decision making
You adapt to changing priorities and tight project timelines while maintaining focus on deliverables and quality
