Role OverviewThe Manager, Logistics is a hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing end-to-end logistics, order fulfillment, and inventory operations for PDI’s hardware and service components. This role leads a team of four direct reports and ensures that customer orders are fulfilled accurately and on time while maintaining alignment with sales forecasts and operational demand.
In addition to managing logistics operations, this role plays a key part in supporting light manufacturing efforts, including the assembly of PDI’s proprietary unattended POS systems. The Manager, Logistics partners cross-functionally with Sales, Installations, and third-party warehouse providers to optimize processes, improve efficiency, and ensure inventory availability. This is a highly collaborative, onsite role requiring both strategic thinking and a willingness to roll up sleeves to support day-to-day operations when needed.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage a team of 4 direct reports across logistics, fulfillment, and manufacturing support functions
Oversee order fulfillment operations to ensure timely, accurate processing and shipment of customer orders and service parts
Partner with Sales to understand order volume trends and support demand planning and inventory forecasting
Manage inventory levels across internal operations and third-party warehouses; provide recommendations on replenishment and stock optimization
Support and oversee light manufacturing and assembly operations for proprietary unattended POS systems, stepping in as needed to meet demand
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize logistics workflows, fulfillment processes, and operational efficiency
Collaborate with installation teams and internal stakeholders to ensure alignment between logistics and deployment timelines
Oversee shipping operations, including pick, pack, and ship processes for service part components
Monitor performance metrics and implement improvements to enhance service levels, accuracy, and turnaround times
Ensure proper documentation, inventory controls, and adherence to company policies and procedures
Foster a team-oriented, accountable, and hands-on culture focused on delivering results
Qualifications
Minimum of 3+ years of people management experience with direct reports, with a focus on leading teams in logistics, fulfillment, or operations
At least 2+ years of experience in logistics, shipping, or order fulfillment operations
Exposure to manufacturing or assembly operations preferred
Strong understanding of inventory management, demand planning, and supply chain operations
Experience working cross-functionally with Sales, Operations, and external partners
Proven ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on execution in a fast-paced environment
Strong problem-solving and process improvement mindset with a focus on operational efficiency
Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage tenured team members and drive alignment
Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
