About the role
As a Student Experience Coordinator reporting to the Manager, Student Experience Special Projects, you will play a key role in shaping a vibrant, inclusive, and engaging student journey for international pathway students. Working closely with the Student Experience leadership team, you will design and deliver impactful programs and events that support students from orientation through to their transition into university life.
This is a highly hands-on, student-facing role where you’ll bring creativity and energy to campus life, helping students feel connected, supported, and “RMIT Ready.” From large-scale orientations to social events, excursions, and wellbeing initiatives, you’ll contribute to building a dynamic student community and a memorable campus experience.
Key responsibilities:
Plan, coordinate and deliver student engagement programs including orientation, excursions, social activities and campus events
Design innovative initiatives that enhance student wellbeing, belonging, and transition to university
Manage operational aspects of events, including logistics, communications, risk assessments, and stakeholder coordination
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure programs align with broader student experience strategies
Contribute to content creation such as student communications, social media, and Student News
Support and help grow the Student Ambassador Program, including recruitment and engagement
Foster strong relationships across the organisation and wider university community
Promote inclusion, sustainability, and student voice through activities and activations
Provide a high level of student support through direct interaction and engagement
About You
You are a proactive and enthusiastic professional with a passion for student engagement and creating meaningful experiences. You thrive in a fast-paced, people-focused environment and enjoy bringing ideas to life.
You will bring:
Demonstrated experience in planning, coordinating and delivering engaging programs or events
Strong organisational and project coordination skills with attention to detail
A creative mindset with the ability to design innovative student-focused initiatives
Confidence in communication and public speaking
A student-focused approach with a commitment to high-quality service
The ability to build relationships and collaborate across teams
Flexibility to support events outside standard working hours when required
Experience working with diverse communities (highly regarded)
