About our team
Regional Operations | South & West | Operations SA/NT | Operations & Planning
Operations NT (Ops NT) is responsible for the conduct of efficient and effective customs and migration, surveillance, patrol and response activities in the Northern Territory including remote onshore and littoral operating domains. Ops NT is responsible for maintaining control of persons, goods, vessels and small-craft through activities in Northern Region's in-shore maritime environment outside of seaport limits. Ops NT delivers functions through border enforcement and operational activities on cross-border movements of people and goods across numerous areas, including international airports, seaports, and cargo facilities. Ops NT plays a vital role processing travellers and goods to protect Northern Australia's border from the entry of illegal and harmful goods, and those intending to commit migration fraud or threaten the national interest. These activities include processing travellers and goods arriving and departing Australia outside of major metropolitan airports and seaports, such as vessels and small-craft at remote seaports, and light aircraft at regional airfields.
