About the role
We are seeking a Training Specialist to strengthen and scale UMC’s external training for users of WHODrug Global and related products. The role focuses on developing, coordinating and delivering high‑quality training that helps users apply UMC’s products correctly and consistently in their daily work. You will work closely with subject‑matter experts across UMC and play a key role in ensuring that training content, delivery and quality are aligned across regions and products.
You will report to the Head of Outreach.
What you will do
- Help shape the future of UMC’s external training by contributing to how training for WHODrug Global and related products is developed, delivered and scaled over time.
- Develop, coordinate and deliver external training for users of UMC’s Drug Dictionary, WHODrug Global, and related UMC products.
- Design and maintain training materials, including presentations, supporting documentation, exercises and other learning resources, in collaboration with internal subject‑matter experts.
- Collaborate with Learning & Development Specialists in the development of online courses within UMC’s learning management system (LMS).
- Plan and deliver classroom‑based training sessions, workshops and similar interactive formats, as well as virtual training sessions and webinars.
- Coordinate training activities such as scheduling, logistics and preparation for different training formats.
- Deliver training sessions independently and together with colleagues, including demonstrations, case‑based discussions and Q&A.
- Work with UMC instructors using a train‑the‑trainer approach to ensure consistent quality and messaging across all training delivered.
- Support UMC’s Regional Specialists to maintain alignment and continuity in training across countries and regions.
- Review and support WHODrug users in preparing presentations for community events, such as WHODrug User Group meetings and webinars.
- Collect and use feedback to continuously improve training content, structure and delivery.
Who you are
- You have a relevant academic background in pharmacy, medicine, pharmacology or a related field; a Master’s degree (MSc) or higher is preferred.
- You have solid knowledge of WHODrug Global or similar terminologies and understand how such tools are used in practice.
- You have experience developing and/or delivering training and are comfortable presenting to professional audiences.
- You work in a structured and collaborative way and can manage several parallel activities with attention to detail.
- You enjoy working across teams and translating expert knowledge into clear, practical learning for users.
- You are comfortable with international travel a few times per year as part of the role.
- You are motivated by contributing to consistent, high‑quality use of medicine and vaccine information globally.
