Position Overview: The National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) is seeking a motivated summer intern to support our team with administrative, research, and planning duties while developing professional skills through mentorship and hands-on tasks. This position will work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment, engaging with both internal and external stakeholders. If you are a self-starter with strong communication skills and enjoy contributing to projects in a fast-paced team environment, this position is for you! We value in-person collaboration and the sense of community it brings. Therefore, if hired, you will be expected to work in the office 5 days per week. Our office is conveniently located in Downtown Washington, DC, just steps away from Gallery Place and Metro Center.
Responsibilities: • Ability to provide customer support to colleagues. This includes managing incoming phone calls, emails, and Teams' chat queries. Direction will be given by one's manager. • Provide administrative support to the department as requested. Including but not limited to assisting with clerical tasks, updating account information, research, and preparing reports as needed. • Responsible for greeting guests immediately upon arrival with a smile and professional, friendly, and courteous greeting. • Direct guests to appropriate meeting rooms or staff members, ensuring a smooth flow. • Serve as a backup for the front desk concierge as needed. Duties involve being stationed at the front desk and acting as the primary point of contact.
Qualifications: • Currently enrolled in, or recently graduated from, a relevant accredited degree program. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required. • Exceptional communication; both written and verbal, is essential. Including but not limited to time management, organization, and problem-solving abilities. • Positive, friendly, and helpful demeanor.
Salary Range: $20 per hour
