The Department of Spanish and Portuguese at Emory University invites applications for one Visiting Instructor position of Portuguese for the academic year 2026-2027 (renewable). We are looking for a dynamic, inspiring, and engaging instructor with a solid pedagogical foundation for language and culture instruction, as well as a commitment to curricular innovation at all levels. The ideal candidate should possess excellent communication skills, create engaging learning environments, and be dedicated to fostering students' language proficiency and cultural literacy.
Visiting Instructors will teach five courses during the academic year under the supervision of the Director of the Portuguese Program. Responsibilities include attending regular teaching meetings, holding office hours, and supporting Portuguese program activities.
