Energy Transition Overview
The goal of EDF’s Energy Transition Team is to bend the curve on global greenhouse gas emissions from fossil fuel production and use by 2030, cleanly and equitably. We will achieve this through a defined set of strategies targeted at 1) reducing emissions from fossil fuel production, delivery, and use, and 2) reducing demand for fossil fuels in power generation, transportation, buildings, and industry. To achieve this goal, we seek reforms in law, regulation, and/or business practice through a mix of strategic corporate partnerships, direct engagement with policymakers, and mobilizing investor and public sentiment in favor of change. In formulating and achieving our strategies, we will work in close collaboration with EDF regions, draw on cutting-edge science and rigorous economic and financial analysis, and act with team culture goals to develop durable solutions. This role will also support executives.
Overall Function
Under the direction of the Head of Operations, Europe the Coordinator provides vital administrative support by developing and implementing efficient protocols for managing and tracking projects, expenses, invoices, and contracts. The Coordinator also helps with scheduling, meeting and event planning for projects designed to help advance the goals of the Energy Transition Team.
Within Energy Transition team, the Coordinator will dedicate most of their time supporting the Europe Methane team and about a quarter of their time supporting administratively the Europe-based Global Transportation leader.
This position supports team members located across different countries within the Energy Transition Team so the ability to work independently with minimal supervision is required. The Coordinator proactively solves problems and independently troubleshoots and addresses issues that arise and possesses strong communication skills both oral and written. This role requires strong organizational and time management skills, great attention to detail and the ability to respond to shifting priorities.
Key Responsibilities
For the EU Methane team
Work with team management, staff, and mission finance to help forecast, maintain and monitor budget.
Apply excellent organizational, communication, and planning skills by responding to requests for information, helping to coordinate activities and projects for the team and preparing correspondence and reports as needed.
Administer contracts for consultants, including assistance in writing and processing contracts and grants and working with staff and consultants to ensure the fulfillment of contractual obligations and timely submission of invoices.
Conduct the administrative processes of the team, which include expense reports, travel arrangement, budget maintenance and invoice processing.
Follow through with finance staff to ensure payments are made and consultants appraised.
Manage other administrative tasks associated with staff, consultants, including logistics, onboarding, and telecommunications.
Assist team staff and other colleagues to better communicate and coordinate on joint projects.
Assist in the implementation of methane projects including writing relevant work reports for funders, organizing relevant project activities.
Assist in planning and execution of event logistics.
For the Global Transportation leader
Maintain calendars and provide travel arrangements for the VP, Global Transportation.
Support the Shipping and Aviation teams with events planning events in Europe.
Work closely with Operations colleagues in the US to ensure all contracts are signed and payments processed.
General responsibilities

Skills & Qualifications
Educated to bachelor’s degree with at least three years of relevant experience - additional professional experience may substitute for a degree.
Creativity, attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task and get work done under pressure.
Must have the ability to work in a highly collaborative and matrixed environment and the ability to build and maintain relationships across the organization.
Excellent project support, contract management, and administration skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability and willingness to work as a strong team player and independently as a self-starter.
Ability to manage and prioritize diverse, simultaneous tasks.
Experience with budgeting, accounting and/or bookkeeping a plus.
Proficiency in the use of PCs and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint); experience with Emburse and/or NetSuite a bonus.
Interest in environmental advocacy is strongly preferred.
Demonstrates self-awareness, cultural competency and inclusivity, and ability to work with colleagues and stakeholders across all cultures and backgrounds.
Fluency in English required, knowledge of French or Dutch a plus.
Location
This position is based in Brussels, Belgium (hybrid), You need to have the right to live and work in Belgium when applying.
Duration
Fixed term – 2 years contract, Part Time (80%) possible
