About the Role:
Are you passionate about making a difference for families and friends supporting young people with mental health needs? Join the headspace Hamilton team as a Peer Worker (Family and Friends) and use your experience to create meaningful change.
This is an ongoing part-time opportunity (0.8 EFT), offering stability and continuity within a supportive, values-driven team environment.
In this rewarding role, you’ll provide short-term, family-inclusive support to families and friends of young people aged 12 to 25, helping them build the knowledge and skills needed to promote mental wellbeing and resilience. You’ll deliver individual and group supports, offer guidance on navigating digital resources, and foster connections to other services, all while acting as a positive and empathetic role model.
Working in the vibrant regional centre of Hamilton, Victoria, this role is also an opportunity to champion family-inclusive practices across our multidisciplinary team, establish family reference groups, and represent the voice of families and friends in our broader network. With a focus on collaboration, advocacy, and community engagement, this position is perfect for someone who wants to inspire early help-seeking and contribute to innovative mental health support for young people and their loved ones.
