About the role:
The Clinical Governance Administration Officer is responsible for managing the administrative responsibilities of the Clinical Governance Committee (CGC), Clinical Reference Group (CRG), and the Research Sub Committee. The role also supports the Service Excellence Unit in accreditation preparation, policy review and other tasks as required.
The Clinical Governance Administration Officer reports to the Clinical Governance Lead, and the position has no supervisory responsibilities.
This position works closely with other members of the Service Excellence Unit, the Director Medical Services, Primary Health Care teams and maintains regular contact with other program staff to ensure effective outcomes for clients.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide high level administrative support to the Clinical Governance and Research functions of the organisation to ensure a positive and responsive engagement with internal and external stakeholders, including management of organisational email accounts.
- Coordinate and manage the annual meeting schedule and calendar for the clinical governance required meetings and reporting functions to the Board Subcommittee, requiring interaction with both external and internal executive and administrative assistants with a key focus on supporting achievement of key priorities of the Service Excellence Unit.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of an appropriate records management system that supports the day-to-day and reporting requirements of the Service Excellence Unit.
- Compile and prepare confidential documentation, independently and/or in consultation with the Clinical Governance Lead, the Director Medical Services and the greater Service Excellence Unit, including correspondence, meeting itineraries, agendas, minutes, action lists, briefing papers, background research.
- Participate in organisational and community activities to advance the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
- Work within Wuchopperen’s Policies and Procedures including the Staff Code of Conduct and the Work Health and Safety requirements and contribute to continuous improvement processes to ensure compliance with relevant standards and safe, effective service delivery.

- Extensively developed interpersonal and communication skills including the ability liaise with a range of stakeholders as well as effectively advocate for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a multi-disciplinary team environment, prioritise and meet deadlines, deal with matters of a sensitive and confidential nature.
- Demonstrated ability to meet and work within the core values and behaviours of Wuchopperen.
Qualifications and experience:
- Highly developed engagement and relationship management skills together with the ability to consult and liaise with a wide range of stakeholders and deal with matters of a sensitive and confidential nature.
- It is a condition of employment in this role for the employee to be, and remain, vaccinated against measles, mumps, rubella, varicella (chicken pox), pertussis (whooping cough) and hepatitis B.
- It is recommended for the employee to be vaccinated against COVID-19.
Requirements:
- Hold a current Blue Card (for suitability to work with children and young people).
- Proof of qualifications is required to be provided prior to the commencement of duty.
- Possess a current driver’s licence.
- A commitment to adhere to Wuchopperen’s policies and procedures.
