Job Description:
The Payroll Administrator is responsible for accurately processing payroll and maintaining employee payroll records in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This role supports end-to-end payroll operations using UKG Pro and UKG Workforce Management (WFM) and serves as a key resource for payroll accuracy, compliance, and employee support.
Responsibilities:
Payroll Processing
- Process bi-weekly/weekly/monthly payrolls using UKG Pro
- Review and validate timekeeping data from UKG WFM for accuracy, including overtime, differentials, PTO, and holiday pay
- Ensure accurate calculation of wages, deductions, garnishments, taxes, and benefits
- Process off-cycle checks, retro pay, bonuses, and adjustments as needed
Time & Attendance
- Administer and audit timecards in UKG WFM
- Resolve timekeeping discrepancies with managers and employees
- Maintain pay rules, schedules, accruals, and labor allocations
- Support managers with timekeeping best practices and corrections
Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure payroll compliance with FLSA, IRS, state, and local wage and hour laws
- Assist with year-end processing including W-2s, 1095s, and audits
- Prepare payroll reports for finance, audits, grants, or management review
- Support internal and external audits related to payroll and timekeeping
Employee Support
- Respond to employee payroll inquiries in a timely and professional manner
- Educate employees on pay statements, tax withholdings, and self-service tools
- Maintain confidentiality of payroll and employee data at all times
System Administration
- Maintain employee payroll records in UKG Pro
- Assist with system testing, upgrades, and configuration changes
- Collaborate with HR and Finance to ensure accurate data flow between systems
Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of payroll processing experience
- Hands-on experience with UKG Pro and UKG Workforce Management
- Strong knowledge of payroll laws, wage and hour regulations, and best practices
- Experience processing multi-state payroll
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong Excel and reporting skills
- Strong interpersonal skills

The BGMP office is located in downtown Boston, near Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market, and is easily accessible by MBTA and commuter rail lines. This position is based in Boston, and candidates should be based in the area or willing to move.
The annual salary for this role is $78,000 - $90,000.
