Location: Taranaki, New Zealand
We are looking for an Electrical Engineer to join our growing engineering team!
What you’ll be doing
You will contribute electrical engineering expertise across multiple projects and initiatives, including:
Electrical Engineering & Design
Deliver electrical engineering design for HV and LV systems across hydrogen production facilities, refuelling stations and renewable energy assets
Develop and review electrical documentation including Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), protection philosophies, load studies and technical specifications
Provide expertise on high-voltage AC systems, including switchgear, protection, earthing and network integration
Support grid connection processes, including engagement with network service providers and regulatory authorities
Ensure designs comply with relevant New Zealand and Australian electrical standards
Project Delivery
Support projects through concept, design, procurement, construction and commissioning phases
Review engineering deliverables from consultants and contractors
Contribute to technical decision-making to ensure projects achieve performance, safety, cost and schedule objectives
Technical Assurance
Participate in engineering design reviews and hazard identification processes
Contribute to risk assessments and safety studies for electrical systems
Ensure systems are designed with operability, maintainability and safety in mind
About You
We’re open to candidates with intermediate through to more experienced electrical engineering backgrounds, particularly those with exposure to HV or industrial power systems.
You will bring:
A Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
Around 5+ years’ experience in electrical engineering
Experience with high-voltage electrical infrastructure, such as protection systems, switchgear or grid connections
Experience delivering electrical design within energy, infrastructure, renewable or industrial projects
Experience working with engineering consultants and contractors
Experience in the following areas would be advantageous:
Renewable energy projects
Hydrogen production or industrial process facilities
Grid connection processes in New Zealand or Australia
